Summary

This document outlines how we at SAFA handle importing and exporting data to and from our system. We first cover the currently developed integrations functionality, before then describing our future integrations plans.

Current Functionality

Our product currently is currently able to pull in data from GitHub and Jira. We can support all other forms of project data as requested.

During an engagement, our team will personally handle any needs around formatting data for intake into our system. We will work on a custom integration with any data sources being used to improve the process of importing new project data.

All of our integrations currently only import data into SAFA, and do not automatically send updates back to the data source. We currently support exporting project data in CSV, JSON, and ReqIF format, but can manually format the exported data to meet whatever formating needs there are.

We will work closely with our early adopters to prioritize their data integration and customization needs on our roadmap.

Future Functionality

We plan to build our our integrations to be able to both pull in and send out data to all sources of truth that may be used.

We will expand our existing integrations with Jira and GitHub to have more customization controls, and allow for sending data back to Jira. We plan to support similar data sources of code and documentation, such as GitLab, Azure Dev-Ops, Notion, Confluence, and more.

We also plan on building integrations with requirements management softwares such as Jama, Polarion, and DOORs.
